Understanding Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Pregnancy and infant loss can be profoundly painful and disorienting. Whether your loss was recent or long ago, expected or sudden, early or late, it can leave a deep emotional imprint that is often misunderstood or minimized by others.
You may be carrying grief, shock, anger, guilt, numbness, or a longing that feels impossible to put into words. Therapy can offer a compassionate, steady space to acknowledge what you’ve lost — and to tend to the impact it has had on your life, your body, and your sense of self.
Loss Can Take Many Forms
Pregnancy and infant loss may include miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR (termination for medical reasons), neonatal loss, or other experiences of loss during pregnancy or shortly after birth. No matter the circumstances, loss can feel isolating — especially when others don’t know what to say or expect you to “move on.”
